The 15th International Architecture Exhibition, titled Reporting From the Front and directed by Alejandro Aravena, opens to the public on Saturday 28 May at the Giardini and Arsenale venues. The exhibition “will be about sharing with a broader audience, the work of people that are scrutinizing the horizon looking for new fields of action, facing issues like segregation, inequalities, peripheries, access to sanitation, natural disasters, housing shortage, migration, informality, crime, traffic, waste, pollution and participation of communities. And simultaneously will be about presenting examples where different dimensions are synthesized, integrating the pragmatic with the existential, pertinence and boldness, creativity and common sense”.(Aravena)
The exhibition features 88 Participants from 37 countries, 63 National Participations with 4 countries showcased for the first time, and 20 Collateral Events around Venice, one of them hosten in our Sala Tiziano and our cloister. Educational activities will again be offered for the year 2016, addressed to individuals and groups of students from schools of all levels and grades, from universities and fine arts academies, and to professionals, companies, experts, architecture fans and families. Then, visit Venice with a different point of view as Alejandro Aravena hopes for the Biennale 2016 that might “offer a new point of view like the one Maria Reiche has on the ladder.”
