Venice is the only city of its type in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site representing a cultural and natural asset of exceptional value, demanding its preservation and transmission to future generations. Its exceptional historical identity has transformed the city in to one of the international capitals of tourism.
A sustainable tourism is necessary to preserve its extraordinary beauty and uniqueness in harmony with the daily life of residents.
For this Summer up to September 2nd 2018, the City of Venice may take exceptional measures for the management of visitor flows with the application of pedestrian and/or road diversions.
However, residents of the municipality of Venice and, in general, all holders of the Venezia Unica card are excluded from these measures.
