From Friday 5 to Sunday 7 October, in the historic center of Venice, the Venetian Gardens Festival is a unique opportunity to visit the most secret courtyards and gardens that are open only on special and very rare occasions. Guided tours (in Italian), readings and convivial moments are organised by Wigwam Club Historic Gardens.
This year’s edition is focused on trees and some special events let you visit and discover “the paper mulberry and the intrusive nettle tree” of Palazzo Nani Bernardo garden, “the ancient cypresses” of the garden and cloister of the Scuola Vecchia della Misericordia, “the auspicious pomegranate” of the Garden of Palazzo Grimani ai Servi, the olive grove next to the tomb of Tintoretto at Madonna dell’Orto, the vineyard of San Francesco della Vigna, the centuries-old mulberry trees in the park of the San Clemente Palace Kempinski, the magnificent pittosporum in the garden of Palazzo Pesaro Papafava.
All visits are by appointment only and booking is compulsory. The suggested donation is 10/20€.
