UPDATE DIAGNOSTICO – XII EDIZIONE 22nd – 24th FEBRUARY 2018

In Italy there are a multitude of Clinical Neurophysiology Services that deal with the diagnosis of peripheral neuropathies, often interacting with other specialists. Multidisclipinare this approach may lead in practice to the use of inconsistent diagnostic pathways and / or complex and expensive care therapeutic interventions, sometimes inappropriate. The purpose of this meeting is to compare various experts in neuroscience to identify specific diagnostic evaluation and treatment for peripheral neuropathies and other diseases affecting the peripheral nervous system, based on evidence-based medicine criteria. In particular, in the first phase of the event, will present the latest and Modern clinical neurophysiology and ultrasonographic advantage of direct practical demonstrations of equipment (“a small group”) or by discussion of clinical cases. In the second part we will be instead treated the different forms of neuropathy using the type teaching formula “meeting with experts”, coordinated by moderators of clear international experience.

ALPINNOCT PROJECT: EUROPEAN FUNDS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMBINED TRANSPORT THROUGH THE ALPS 7th-8th FEBRUARY 2018

The AlpInnoCT project makes a stop in Venice: on 7th and 8th February,  the IV Consortium Meeting of the European project concerning the geographical areas of Italy, Germany and Austria, Slovenia and Switzerland was held at the Cultural Center Don Orione Artigianelli. AlpInnoCT, an acronym for Alpine Innovation for Combined Transport, which was approved at the end of 2016 by the Interreg V Alpine Space Transnational Territorial Cooperation Program 2014-2020 with a total funding of three million euros, aims to improve the competitiveness of combined transport of goods through integrated and transnational optimization of intermodal services, also promoting the use of low-carbon transport.

The two-days event in Venice, which hosted 30 participants representing 15 international project partners, follows the meeting held last October in Trieste during which, with the coordination of the Lead partner Bavaria, the methodology was shared for starting the use of the “Dialogue event” tool, designed to actively involve the area’s stakeholders in the implementation of the project activities.

“The Alps are a delicate ecosystem that must be protected from polluting emissions and climate change. The continuous increase in the volume of freight traffic causes environmental problems. These trends increase the need to review current transport systems and develop innovative models to protect the Alpine Space as established, for example, in the EU White Paper of 2011 and the EUSALP strategy (Macro Strategy EUSALP) – stresses Mr Mario Pozza, president of Unioncamere Veneto -. However, the efficiency of combined transport is often low. AlpInnoCT faces the challenge of increasing efficiency and productivity through the application of the production industry know-how. The project represents an opportunity to improve processes and cooperation in European transport networks, to integrate innovative approaches to encourage a shift of freight transport from road to rail and to develop the knowledge and possibilities for participation of all stakeholders. Logistic service providers will benefit from better processes and a more user-friendly CT. Truck and trailer manufacturers will have an overview of the innovations in the CT world ».

During the Venetian meeting the progress of project activities was discussed and the mid conference event that will take place in early May in Prien (Germany). For Italy, AlpInnoCT participated, in addition to the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and the Port of Trieste, Unioncamere del Veneto – Eurosportello, which is responsible for promotion and communication activities, the European Academy of Bolzano and the ZAI Interporto Quadrante Europa Consortium of Verona.

SPINE SURGERY 10th and 11th NOVEMBER 2017

On 10th and 11th November at the Cultural Center Don Orione Artigianelli was held the conference entitled “Meeting Spinal Surgery Section – 3rd edition: Looking at the future of spine surgery based on past experience” organized by the SINCH, biennial meeting of the Spinale Surgery Section of the Italian Society of Neurosurgery, which saw present spinal surgical professionals from all over Italy and from other European countries such as Germany, France and Switzerland.
The purpose of the meeting was to compare and update two main themes: in the first day attempt was made to place order on the use of interspinous / interlaminar devices in the degenerative pathology of the lumbar spine, while the goal of the second day was to disseminate the usefulness of endoscopic methodology.

MICROS 2017 – FROM 6th TO 10th NOVEMBER 2017

AL SERVIZIO DELLA RICERCA

From 6th to 10th November 2017 at our Cultural Center Don Orione Artigianelli the “17th International Symposium on Microdosmetry” took place, to provide a forum for scientists from different disciplines to exchange and discuss recent and discovered data on relevant topics in physics and biology : the mechanisms of radiation action and their consequences for the risk of evaluation and radiotherapy, including proton and ion therapy. The 17th Symposium was a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Symposium, and in this way, the tradition of promoting and encouraging interdisciplinary interactions between physical and chemical progress, techniques and knowledge combined with the latest rapid progress in the molecular and cell biology and genetics. In addition, the meeting was devoted to recent techniques and developments in radiation detection and new irradiation. Discussion topic was the current issue of nonlinear phenomena and the examination of progress made by modeling the radiation action and multi-stage radiation treatment against cancer and neuro-radiobiology with application to epidemiological data, in particular for better quantification of low dosages and low risk rates.
