BIENNALE ARCHITECTURE 28th May – 27th November 2016

The 15th International Architecture Exhibition, titled Reporting From the Front and directed by Alejandro Aravena, opens to the public on Saturday 28 May at the Giardini and Arsenale venues. The exhibition “will be about sharing with a broader audience, the work of people that are scrutinizing the horizon looking for new fields of action, facing issues like segregation, inequalities, peripheries, access to sanitation, natural disasters, housing shortage, migration, informality, crime, traffic, waste, pollution and participation of communities. And simultaneously will be about presenting examples where different dimensions are synthesized, integrating the pragmatic with the existential, pertinence and boldness, creativity and common sense”.(Aravena)

The exhibition features 88 Participants from 37 countries, 63 National Participations with 4 countries showcased for the first time, and 20 Collateral Events around Venice, one of them hosten in our Sala Tiziano and our cloister. Educational activities will again be offered for the year 2016, addressed to individuals and groups of students from schools of all levels and grades, from universities and fine arts academies, and to professionals, companies, experts, architecture fans and families.  Then, visit Venice with a different point of view as Alejandro Aravena hopes for the Biennale 2016 that might “offer a new point of view like the one Maria Reiche has on the ladder.”

THE FOURTH EUROACADEMIA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: IDENTITIES AND IDENTIFICATIONS: POLITICIZEX USES OF COLLECTIVE IDENTITIES 4th-5th MARCH 2016

The Fourth Euroacademia International Conference ‘Identities and Identifications: Politicized Uses of Collective Identities’ aims to scrutinize the state of the art in collective identities research, to bring once more into debate the processes of identity making, identity building in both constructivist or de-constructivist dimensions. It is the aim of the conference to open the floor to dynamic multi-dimensional and inter-disciplinary understanding of identities today.

Euroacademia aims to bring together a wide network of academics, researchers, practitioners and activists that are willing to share and open to debate their research on identity related topics. Disciplinary, trans and inter-disciplinary approaches, methodological assessments and recommendations, single case studies or cross-sectional analyses, reflective essays, experience sharing or works addressing new puzzles are all welcomed.

DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC UPDATE IN NEUROPHYSIOLOGY CLINIC : NEUROPATHIES AND NEURONOPATHIES 18th-20th FEBRUARY 2016

In Italy there are a multitude of Clinical Neurophysiology Services that deal with the diagnosis of peripheral neuropathies, often interacting with other specialists. Multidisclipinare this approach may lead in practice to the use of inconsistent diagnostic pathways and / or complex and expensive care therapeutic interventions, sometimes inappropriate. The purpose of this meeting is to compare various experts in neuroscience to identify specific diagnostic evaluation and treatment for peripheral neuropathies and other diseases affecting the peripheral nervous system, based on evidence-based medicine criteria. In particular, in the first phase of the event, will present the latest and Modern clinical neurophysiology and ultrasonographic advantage of direct practical demonstrations of equipment (“a small group”) or by discussion of clinical cases. In the second part we will be instead treated the different forms of neuropathy using the type teaching formula “meeting with experts”, coordinated by moderators of clear international experience.

SIGMAR POLKE (1941-2010) AT PALAZZO GRASSI FROM 17th APRIL 2016

A vast anthological ehibition, the first in Italy, will recall this German painter and photographer linked to Pop Art on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the artist’s birth and the 30th anniversary of his partecipation at the Venice Biennale, awarded by a Golden Lion.
