THANKS TO FAUSTO, FELICE AND CESARE BOGA

The Cultural Centre Don Orione Artigianelli, at the conclusion of the exhibition Rivus altus hosted in the past two months at the fifteenth-century cloister, received a beautiful gift by the Boga family members, through their www.thebogafoundation.it Foundation, who have exhibited, in the photo shows together with architect Massimiliano Farina, the series of sculptures created by them called Homini: “benevolent beings profile, stilizzandosi and emptied, framed and include what is around them” (as he called them the newspaper Panorama the current issue this week – Nov. 23, 2016). But back to the great gift received, you can see just above, “Welcome”, the Sanctity of Don Orione, which welcomes all the little ones with a flower in his hand. The work was placed inside the great eighteenth-century cloister so that it is visible from every room, meeting and surrounding rooms.

FINAL CONFERENCE OF PROJECT LIFE-GHOST 20th OCTOBER 2016

In Aula Magna of our Congress Center “Don Orione Artigianelli”, we hosted the final conference of project LIFE-GHOST, to present the results obtained during the three years of operation (2013-2016). The project LIFE-GHOST co-funded by the European Commission under the LIFE + Biodiversity program, carried out with the partnership of the ‘Institute of Marine Sciences of the CNR-ISMAR National Research Council (project leader), IUAV and Laguna Project, helped to assess, through innovative approaches, the presence and impacts of networks and fishing gear lost or abandoned on the seabed along the Venetian coast, particularly the rocky areas corresponding to the so-called “tegnùe” (the Venetian word meaning “withheld”) , particularly rich in biodiversity. Field activities, carried out on an area of 2,125 hectares of seabed circumscribed to 15 areas with natural rock formations and one with artificial reefs (soffolta Lido), led to the identification, mapping and subsequent removal of at least 350 objects related to fishing (nets and other gear), for a total weight of over 500 kg, providing the first scientific evidence for this marine coastal environment. http://www.life-ghost.eu

RIVUS ALTUS 8th OCTOBER – 27th NOVEMBER 2016

From October 8th to November 27th 2016, we will host the exhibition “Rivus Altus” at Sala Tiziano by our Centro Culturale Don Orione Artigianelli Dorsoduro 909/a.  To view sculptures by Alberto Giacometti and brothers Boga alongside a photographic project by Massimiliano Farina.

Photographic series together in an unprecedented way the panorama of Venice more known in the world: the view from the Rialto Bridge; Farina takes this heterogeneous size sensitive, capturing the eyes and actions of the people around him.

The items in the installation are a real added value thanks to the participation of The Boga Foundation: the series of sculptures “Homini” of Boga converses with the elements of the exhibition, materializing the relationship between visitors and the people.

As a tribute to the 50th from the death of Giacometti and in remembrance of his participation at the Venice Biennale of 1956, will present two of his works from the collection of The Boga Foundation. The eclectic creative Boga is a precious source of inspiration from the work of Giacometti.

The project “Rivus Altus” consists thus of two distinct elements, in continuous dialogue between them, the landscape and its observatories.

The exhibition is realized with the contribution of The Boga Foundation, sponsored by the city of Venice, IUAV University, communication by Vittorio Schieroni. http://www.ilpontedirialto.it
